Branch 176, 58 Albert St., Forest, Ontario N0N 1J0
As a group, it has always been in service not only for the veterans at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 176 but the community as a whole. It participates in local events whenever possible.
The players also act as "goodwill ambassadors" when performing in the United States, thus helping to strengthen the bonds between our two countries.
The pipers and drummers have offered free musical instruction in piping and drumming to people of all ages and many a student has benefited from the programme.
The band exists as a close knit social organization for those who share its goals and previous members that have moved on to other pursuits often drop back to say hello and reminisce.
In 2009, the Forest Legion Pipe Bank celebrated its 50 years of active duty in the community. This is another milestone in the place we call home.
Since 1959, the Forest Legion Pipe Band has maintained an active presence in the town of Forest and surrounding area. Although times have changed, the mandate of this organization has remained constant. The band endeavours to reflect the history of Lambton County in preserving its Scottish heritage.
